Scaffolding is a temporary
structure used by construction workers to access places that are difficult to
reach. We can also say scaffoldings are used to provide platform for workers
working at places.
These scaffoldings can be used
anywhere in constructing buildings, repair work, cleaning windows of tall
buildings. These scaffoldings are fixed with scaffolding screw jacks to
adjust the height of scaffoldings.
Though there are many types of
scaffolding but the basic purpose remains same. It totally depends on the
project which type of scaffolding will serve the purpose. Deciding the type of
scaffolding is an important aspect to consider. So, here we will discuss
different types of scaffoldings:
1.
Supported Scaffolding: this is the most common
type of scaffolding. It is used where elevation is required. It is built from
base towards upwards. This type of scaffolding is used in constructing a
building. This type of supported scaffolding is most convenient and easiest
form of scaffolding.
2.
Suspended Scaffolding: this type of scaffolding
is normally suspended from a roof. It is used when constructing a base is
difficult. This type of scaffolding is used in window cleaning of tall
buildings. It is often used in repair work also.
3.
Roller Scaffolding: this type of scaffolding is
similar to supported scaffolding with caster wheels on its base. because of
these wheels, scaffolding can be moved from one place to another without being
reconstructed. The wheels should be locked when workers are on scaffoldings.
4.
Aerial Lifts: this type of scaffolding is used when workers
need to work on different level of construction building. This type of
scaffolding is very useful in constructing multi-story buildings where workers
and material can be easily lifted by this scaffolding.
